My name is Krishna
Prashanth . I was born in a
metropolitan city Chennai in Tamil
Nadu, India on June 4
th,1989. As you see, I was a cute kid and you can see where it came from:)
Story Behind My Name
My mom Mrs.Lakshmi, read a lot of novels, usually Telugu ones. In most of her favourite novels the name of the hero used to be Krishna. So she always wanted to name her son, that is me as Krishna. My dad guessed I would be too playful and naughty but still he made his attempts based on his beliefs on numerology and added Prashanth to my name(means soft, serene) which later proved to be futile!!! :)
Early Life
Life in Chennai
My dad told me I was kissed by an American Lady when I was like one or two months old and my mom told me I never crawled. I skipped and started walking directly. I believe it was because I was always way ahead but my mom believes I was and am lazy. I guess most of my friends would agree to the latter part. I would say, I am lazy only because I am smart enough to handle it.:) My kindergarten was very sweet. I don't remember much but there are three incidents I couldn't forget.
The first one was even after i was promoted to U.K.G, I sat in the L.K.G class and later I was sent to the actual class.
The second one was one day, my teacher looked really beautiful and I told my mom that I thought it was her birthday and that she looked good. Next day, my teacher asked me in the middle of the class along with her colleague. I don't remember telling anything. I remember just standing there looking at her not knowing how to react or what to expect. But relax guys! The experience was good because both of them sealed it with a kiss..
The third one was when i was leaving the school and shifting to pondicherry. I met my teacher in her home and I remember sitting in a sofa right in front of her ,drinking mango juice.
I was a little guy so leaving the school dint bother me.
Aravind was my best friend that time. He was a year elder to me. We played stupid games but there are some good things he did like he taught me how to ride a cycle. Every evening, I played with him,I would roam in the streets of T.Nagar which is where I lived.
I don't remember much about my 1st grade. All I remember is I used to go in a van to school and my dad always followed me in his car. I used to wave good bye from the moment I got into the van till the moment I got down at school. I also remember that I broke a guy's tooth in a fight during the Lunch break and got caned by a sir.
Then we had to shift to Pondicherry after I completed my 1st grade. I was a studious guy and I scored good marks. When we were getting my Transfer Certificate I can still picturize the scene my dad said "Congrats! You got third rank."
Life in Pondicherry
Pondicherry was a different place. I dint like it much in the beginning for one reason. I got into St.Patrick Matriculation Hr.Sec.School and we took a house nearby. I dint like it because the roads were not laid then. So i couldn't ride my cycle with the side wheels. I got it removed and started riding it though I had never done it before. The results must be obvious. I ended up breaking my little sister's nose and in the gutter.. Quite a memorable experience!!
Then I started riding well.. There was a gang of bicycle riders like me in my area. I became a part of them and that was the funniest part of my childhood and I got mostly hurt only at that time. We used to meet at 4pm sharp and start racing. There were even bigger guys than me. My mom received a few complaints about my speeding but it dint stop me from having fun. I kind of felt like a hero when I was doing it. I usually came first or second and scraping my knees was also common.. I mostly second because of one guy.. His bicycle had bigger wheels than mine so he was always a second ahead.. It killed me that time..
I got into a lot of co-curricular activities as I grew up. I attended a lot of classes for drawing, music, shuttle and karate.. I first learnt tennis but then I dint have much company, so I shifted to Shuttle to join my friends. Those days were good. I was busy. I watched a lot of movies, English mostly along with my dad. Rocky 4 and Titanic were the movies I loved the most when I was in my 7th grade and they are still my favourite.
I played keyboard in the school assembly and I was an out-standing student apart from being good in studies.. Now by telling I was out-standing I mean I was sent out of the class quite often for my mischievousness. When I recall, a smile lites up easily.
Teachers
There are a few teachers I can never forget in my Life.
One such teacher is Mrs.Vasanthi Nayar. She was my first class teacher and a very sweet lady. She taught me hindi and I had been to her house many times. I knew her daughter Ambiga from Karate class who later got placed in Infosys.Oh Yeah! I am a karata kid!!;) My mam has not even scolded me once. All she said was "Krishnaa!!!!" and I would stop. She once said "I am definitely going to vaikunta because of you. I keep repeating your name so often". I knew she liked me. Before leaving school, she came to my home and she spoke to me. She told my mom I will definetly reach heights. Seperation is one thing which really hurts me. Leaving the school later dint hurt me much but this did. I dint speak a word. Actually I couldn't. I wrote a letter that evening for her. She was my guiding angel . But the letter was never posted.. She is now a sweet memory. :)
Next is my drawing sir, Mr.Saravana Coumar. He is a man of dedication. He was excellent in drawing and he was an inspiration for me in my childhood. We became really close. I had been to his home many times and all. There was once I dint listen to what he said and he stopped talking to me. That was really painful. I was adamant. Till date, I don't easily give up. I dint even then but eventually I did. I usually won prizes in the competitions they conducted in the beginning of the academic year. I won 4 prizes that time but he dint congratulate me or even speak to me. I started weeping and then he came down, consoled me and kissed me all over my face. That was a great relief .I participated and won in a lot of Inter-school competitions and I got him a shirt for his birthday with the money I won in one. He is still a good family friend.
Music was my passion during school. I spent hours playing my keyboard SA-21. Its been more than 10 years and I can still recall the day my dad bought me it. It was a surprise. I was in 2nd grade and i dint have an idea of what it was. It was just a toy in the beginning but later it had a miraculous influence in my life. I was so crazy about it that my teachers had asked my parents to take care that I don't get too much into it. This was all because of the man who taught me how to play it,Mr.Mars. He enjoyed what he did and we enjoyed being with him.
My correspondent,Mr.Regis is a stalwart. He is the master mind behind my school who made it big time within 10 years of its inception. He loved mathematics and so did I. So it was always good for me with him. I was sent to him when I fought or when I did something mischievous but he pardoned me. He liked my dad a lot so I was more like his grandson. When i scored good marks in public matirculation, he kissed me on my forehead and the same happened when I got into Pondicherry Engineering College. I got his blessings before leaving the school.
Last but not the least is my chemistry sir, Mr.Arougyaraj. He is an awesome teacher. Any topic he took, he pulled the students completely into it. He helped me a lot when I was in 12th grade. I scored 193/200 in Chemistry and all the credit goes to him.
My principal, Mr.Fredrick was the reason I am good in Computers now. He called me a program expert then and most of my efforts were to retain that. Now computers are my world.
I had few friends in school. This being my first blog, I am going to stop now. My next blog would be about my college life which is much more interesting.
